!! WASH OUT TANK (use water or Fuel) BEFORE USING !!
FOR YOUR SAFETY: All lanterns are shipped with the lantern in the “On “ position (check lantern.) REMEMBER TO SET the knob to the “ON” position BEFORE OPERATING the lantern. Video demonstration Methanol Ethanol Lantern
1.
REMOVE PLASTIC RINGS from above
and below Glass Globe, before
putting into Operation.
2. Optical and mechanical
check. Look lantern over
for parts loose from shipping
and always check out new lanterns
for leaks.
3. Unscrew the pressure gauge
(part#149) and pour in
fuel with funnel(part#165) until
lower edge of filler neck.DO NOT
OVERFILL ... tilt the lantern
15 degrees with cap off, ....if
no fuel pours out of it, then
you're o.k. Retighten the
gauge and DO NOT Retighten the pressure release
valve(#13) See photo below

4. Tying or replacing the gas mantle (in photo Above) Loosen screws nuts on frame (part#121) and remove hood(part#123) and the inner casing (part#117). Put mantle over nozzle(part#3) and tie it on. Cut off excess string. Put inner casing back on frame and take care not to break needle (part#68).
5. Add methanol, ethanol, or alcohol fuel into preheat bottle. (see photo below) Using bottle, add fuel to preheat cup (part #35) inside hole in frame.

6. Turn knob (#111) to the on position (6:00 position), and loosen part #13 on gauge (Part #149). (see below) No pressure is required during this step. This is to avoid pressure in lantern, during preheating (using cup).

7. Light match, and insert into hole (by cup - Part #35). This will start preheating the lantern tube.(see below)

8. Repeat proceedures above, if lantern does not start. Turn part # 13 (screw on part # 149) clockwise, so air will not come out. The mantle starts lighting up . Now you can add pressure with pump (part #6). (see photos below)

9. Adjustment block with screw (part #3350). This part allows you to adjust light output,(to brighten or lower lighting), without using part #13 (screw on gauge). Turning screw counter clockwise (turn left)provides more light, clockwise (right) less light. (see photos below)

10. Turn off lantern by letting pressure off part # 13 (screw on gauge - part # 149). See photo below:
