Video demonstration of BioDiesel in Lantern

1.  Take Lantern out of box... Lantern is pre-assembled.

2.  Look over Lantern and see that nothing is missing, funnel included.

****DO NOT LEAN DIRECTLY OVER STOVE(Emits large preheater flame)*******

***LEAVE HOOD ON LANTERN, DURING LIGHTING PROCESS)****

ALWAYS REMEMBER -- SAFETY FIRST!!!!  --  LIGHT IT OUTDOORS

FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH ANY STOVE AND/OR LAMP BEFORE OPERATING.

!! WASH OUT TANK (use water or Fuel) BEFORE USING if needed!!

Note* If you have a problem with your BioDiesel, you may want to add 10 - 40% of another type fuel to the BioDiesel to increase flashpoint.

OPERATING DIRECTIONS:  (CHECK FOR LEAKS FIRST!!!  Fill Lantern & add pressure to detect any leaks) If you need to print this page use Landscape.

(1) Fill the lantern with Biodiesel... DO NOT OVERFILL. Remove Fuel Cap/with gauge. #149. Tighten the filler(#149 see photo below) and bleeder cap(# 13) (the rough feeling, round things), by turning clockwise. (To the right - part #149). See photo below. Make sure you put HOOD (#123)back on lantern before using:  DO NOT Attach HOOD, WHILE LANTERN IS IN OPERATION..

(2) Make sure the control knob(part#111) (the big roundy looking thing has the arrow pointed to twelve o'clock (up). This is the OFF position .... (VERY, VERY important) MAKE SURE THAT YOUR NEEDLE (Part #68) IS STICKING OUT OF nipple (part #50), to confirm that lantern is in OFF position.( see part #111 in photo) (lantern should be in the ON position from the factory.)

(3) Holding the tank part#118, (shiny thing), put some pressure in TANK.  Apply pressure using  part #6.(you can add pressure up to 3 or more on the gauge (Part #149)....OR....to the red mark at least. See photos below: Its best to use EZ pump with lantern when using BioDiesel. see photo below :

using EZ pump and bike pumppart 149 gauge

(4) Fill Preheat cup first with alcohol fuel using a bottle. Apply Flame (match or cigarette lighter) to the fuel inside preheat cup. MUST PRE-HEAT 2 WAYS AT SAME TIME USE CUP(part #35)AND PRE-HEATER (part #226) SEE PHOTOS BELOW:

Apply Flame (match or cigarette lighter) next to big hole in part # 220 open part # 223 (see above photos) and then open preheater all the way.

(4A) Allow lantern to PREHEAT (using Ethanol,.Methanol, or Alcohol in preheat cup may need to do this 2 times or more). (Preheating time is determined by atmospheric/altitude conditions, and fuel.!!  WARNING!!  Iinsufficient preheating time, will cause raw fuel to come out of -(# 50) and make large flame.. Insufficient preheating time (when you turn the lantern on), can cause a buildup of fuel and may look like a leak.

Perheating will cause large Flame's see below photo

Both part 223 and cup 35 preheating

6)  AFTER 2 1/2 to 3 mim.....(preheating).....TURN ON/OFF(part #111) KNOB, to 6 O'Clock (slowly), and LOOK FOR LANTERN TO START OPERATING see mantle start. When the lantern starts operating turn #223 off and add pressure. See photos below:

add pressure with hand pump part 6

(7)  PRESSURIZE LANTERN TO DESIRED PRESSURE (Part # 6). (Lantern will build pressure and not need much pumping after 1 hour of burning).  It will hold pressure, so it is not necessary to pump lantern on continuous basis.  ADJUST LANTERN TO DESIRED PRESSURE- by pumping with part #6 or EZ pump

(8) TO TURN OFF LANTERN - Release pressure off #149 by turning Part #13 counter-clockwise(left), and turn knob (part #111) UP TO 12:00 O'Clock OFF.  (SEE PHOTOS BELOW)
